Guest Featured Artist It has been proven that 'Life' is Colour, Sound, Stillness, and Movement of the Elements. Therefore, every human being is Art in-the-making. To be creative is an ever-changing birth-rite.
Nisha’s arts practice reflects the connection between the seen physical world and the unseen world through the I-magi-nation. Her intention is to evoke her perceptions of both worlds as an exploration of memories, thoughts and emotions. She believes that creativity offers an opportunity to bring the invisible to light in the art, from within. Nisha hopes for more and more people to learn to trust and honour their creative landscapes and artistic appetites, which hunger for connection and nourishment.
From a young age, Nisha asked deep questions of herself, surrounded by Nature and Spirituality in various guises. Having experienced the unfolding of her curiosity, Nisha now practices moving to her inner intuitive impulse, meeting what is trying to meet her. She writes songs and poetry, paints with watercolour and oils, practices modelling with clay, and carving soapstone. These are her choices of meditation, mindfulness, listening, and prayer.
As part of her Masters training at the Tobias School of Art and Therapy, Nisha has been working as a Trainee Transpersonal Arts Counsellor for 2 years. Key to the training is the awareness of how art can transform self and others in personal, cultural and spiritual ways. Studying at Tobias has been a welcome change from her fast-paced life in London as a Corporate Banking Analyst. Over the last three years, Nisha has learned to slow down and paint her life with colour again, embracing creative solitude as well as opening herself to connection with a warm community of international students and peers.
As a Guest Featured Artist for the Lee Green Open Studios 2019, Nisha offers framed and non-framed prints and cards of her transpersonal artwork. Commissions of originals welcome.
