I decided to get involved with the final image because I wanted to do something that the Lee Green Community will be able to see. It makes me really happy that people like it. Some people may not be able to see London itself, so therefore London is now in Lee Green.
My favourite part of the image is the background because all of the splatters. They look like fireworks. It took 4 days to complete because we wanted to get every little detail in such as the windows on the buildings and also the clock. While painting the image there was around 5 or 6 people involved.
Once the painting was complete I felt relieved that it was finally done and that the people who go into Lee Green Community Centre will then enjoy what we have painted.
During the time we were painting someone came into the Community Centre and said that they really liked it. I was really surprised because at that point I was stressing about how things kept going wrong, so it was a total surprise that someone said it looked really good. This means that other people who visit the Community Centre on a daily basis will also like it. Shannon David – Abbey Manor College
