I'm currently on a gap year after completing my first year studying Fine Art at Canterbury UCA, however I have decided to go in a slightly different direction and that Illustration is for me instead. I work with traditional materials, creating what I hope are expressive but simplistic images, taking huge inspiration from fashion and the world around me.
My work is pretty exclusively figurative, with some floral elements – but what has always fascinated me is people. A body, a face; life drawing has always played an integral role in the work I do. Photography also is a big source of inspiration and fun for me. I have extensive experience shooting fashion stories and classical portraits, as well as darkroom developing. Everything I do tends to have a vintage element, so my digital camera rarely sees the light of day, and with both my photography and art - naturalness and vitality is paramount.
Open studios is my first art showcase, but my photography has been featured in the guardian online and as a finalist in a National Trust Competition. Commissions welcome! (More info can be found on my website.)
