Gill HowellsMy jewellery reflects my passion for the coast, sea and beach from where I get most of my inspiration, but it is also influenced by my love of modern Architectural shape and form. It perfectly describes my life - divided between the beach in West Wales and my practice in Lee, London where I worked for 30 years.
I texture, reticulate, and oxidise silver sheet to make earrings, rings, necklaces, broaches and cuffs and sometimes combine the silver with Turquoise, brass and copper- or slate and sea glass from the beach. My jewellery is bold, large, chunky and sometimes whacky and humourous- and friends may say that also describes me!
