David Williams - Imaginary Mixed Media Landscapes
I regularly keep a sketchbook recording anything I find of visual interest when travelling. It largely consists of landscapes, architectural details and figures. My work involves using these drawings as a departure point for paintings. I have no idea of the finished result, preferring to let the work evolve naturally, taking advantage of any unexpected combinations of line and colour to develop the painting. My intention is that people will use their individual experiences to interpret the work in any way which is valid for them.
